Popular Science Wins Top Prize at Drupalcon!
I compared it to winning the Oscar for Best Picture. Yesterday, pingVision won the top Drupalcon Boston award for Drupal Web Development for its work on the Popular Science migration from Vignette 7 to Drupal. Both Megan Miller and John Mahoney are to be congratulated. They worked hard with the pingVision staff to ensure the project went smoothly.
I was so proud of the whole pingVision team yesterday. When the Popular Science site was being built, it used every last one of the pingVision staff at one point or another including staff in South America (greggles), New York (ezra-g), and Scotland (AjK). Everybody on staff had a role in the project's success, from contract management to requirements review to architecture to design and theming to development to data imports and exports.
Having pingVision recognized by the Drupal community in this way is pretty incredible. But the honour was multiplied by the addition of a T1000 8 core server. It has a 74 watt processor--that's like a light bulb. A million hit a day lightbulb.
I'm thrilled.

You deserve this prize!!
I was at Laura session, "Drupal in real world", and I think that everbody in the panel has a clear idea about what is open source and what can be done using it.
Thanks and keep doing your inspirational stuff.
