Day 3, Heathrow to London, Greenwich

Today (Tuesday August 7th) was a less vigorous day. We traveled from the Heathrow hotel this morning to Greenwich, where one of my sets of Uncles/Aunts live. We slept in quite late--10 am--and were quite leisurely about our morning regimen.

We needed to be out of our room by noon--which posed no problems although our daughter did lock herself into the bathroom quite by accident. She couldn't figure out how to open the door and was getting pretty freaked out. I noticed that there was a slot headed screw on the outside of the door. I tried using a UK penny--too wide, 5p, 10p coins. Nothing was working until I dug out a US dime. It fit and after much effort (and bruised fingers) I got the door unlocked.

We had a breakfast of fruit, a muffin, milk, orangina, and a latte, checked email and set out on a one bus, three train, one car trip. First the bus took us to West Hounslow where we caught the Tube to Baron's CT and then from Baron's CT to Cannon Street. After that we took a commuter line to Maze hill there my Aunt picked us up.

We had a lovely cold lunch with my aunt and then took our daughter to the Greenwich park where they had loads of slides and climbing structures. We got ice cream and walked back toward my Uncle's place. We got caught in a fast rain shower at which time we found refuge under a tree.

This evening we had a lovely fish dinner with my aunt, and waited until my Uncle got home from work. Then we spent a good evening chatting.

It was a nice day. Tomorrow--Stonehenge, Bath, and Salisbury! Photos from today soon--at least that is my hope.
