2009 went by fast. Lots happened during that period of time and lots changed.

I continued to run and moderate a site to support adoptive and foster parents that my wife and I built in Drupal in November of 2008. It is called TraumaAdoption.org. We updated the theme and watched usage of the site increase. Guest blogger KCassio started documenting her family's journey towards becoming an adoptive family. I'm looking forward to watching the trek continue in 2010.

I launched my own art site in Drupal to showcase my own artwork and then put together a package that allows other artists to use the same set of modules to sell their own artwork.

I continued to work at pingVision until November when I resigned to become a freelance project manager. My reasons for doing so were and are rather personal, but the decision has proven to be the right one in many ways.

My resignation from pingVision brought me to an assignment with Examiner.com helping shepherd the site from a Cold Fusion footing to a Drupal 7 footing. Working with The Examiner has been stimulating so far with lots of collaborative efforts working with a widely distributed team ranging from the cube beside me to folks in Hungary. I am so looking forward to what the New Year will bring to that project.

I helped found a startup called Vintage Digital with 6 other software professionals. The company is incredibly new, but already proving to have potential that none of us really expected. It too, at this time, is highly Drupal-centric.

I attended Drupalcon in Paris and in Washington DC. In both places, I thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship, learning, and continuation of building my contacts in a community that I feel completely comfortable in. I also attended SXSW for the first time - an almost mind blowing experience.

So what will 2010 bring? I have no idea - but I am confident I'll continue to grow and learn.
