Techsoup Global -- Good News for Nonprofits Worldwide
Some years back I became acquainted with Techsoup while working for a nonprofit as the Technology Director. At the time I was grateful for inexpensive licenses for software we needed. By the time I left that position, we planned software purchases around the Techsoup cycles. It has been a valuable program for nonprofits in the United States and in Canada.
Recently Compumentor has announced Techsoup Global (built in Drupal!)--an extension of the Techsoup project.
Over the past three years, the name “TechSoup” has become synonymous with our service and product solutions. This shift in name recognition comes at a time when our global presence is expanding more than ever before. Additionally, we continue growing both in size and in the range of services we provide. We view this combination of circumstances as an opportunity to more clearly define and communicate our organization’s name; along with our new logo.
Techsoup Global has partnerships worldwide with NGOs in Australia, Belgium, Botswana, Chile, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
I have a long-time relationship with the Compumentor/Techsoup folks, helping with the Nonprofit Commons Project, and am thrilled with the success of the company pushing Techsoup global.
Congratulations on going World-wide!
