It's a tough line to walk, but I feel like some of the adsense styles that are most likely to provide high click through rates/high amounts of money are also styles that are more annoying to users. One idea that I've been toying with is that new posts get ads on the sides, but then a month after it is posted I would want to have my posts get the more invasive "in node" adsense injected. That way my regular readers get to see the content free of ads, but folks who stumble on it months later will see the ads in a format that is likely to provide high payoff. Thoughts? I haven't looked into implementing that, but adsense injector seems like it would be key to that strategy.
