Drupal Adsense Injector
I'm always looking for ways to effectively monetize my site. Adsense hasn't been too terribly successful for me and I suspect--with advice from my brother--that a big part has been placement. I have been placing Adsense ads in the right column, a little too low and in the footer.
Placing Adsense ads in the left and right columns and the footer in Drupal is easy. You can come up with the code in your Adsense account and then create a block with that information in it. No brainer.
Placing ads in nodes is another thing altogether. You could manually place an ad every time, but that does not seem like an effective way of placing ads.
There is a module in Drupal that I could never see a point to. It is called Adsense and all it seemed to do is place ads like I am now. However it is a little more fully featured. You can track clicks, see where your best revenue drivers are.
More importantly, when it is coupled with Adsense Injector, you can get ads into the body of your content. It will inject Google ads into the nodes you indicate you'd like advertising on.
Setup was a little squirrely. It doesn't show you the ads when you are logged in as the owner of the ad--this confused me quite a lot.
Finally I logged out, and there, nestled in a blog post was a Google Ad. So, we'll see if this improves my Adsense revenue.
