My Wife's Ankle Redux

Since Paula broke her ankle, I've been devoting small portions of my writings to her recovery. I have mostly been posting pictures of her x-rays with commentary on the screw that was in her ankle. A few days ago I wrote about the size of the screw.

Yesterday, my daughter lost her first tooth--bear with me this is going somewhere--one on the bottom and in the middle. This invariably brings the tooth fairy. As most parents know, this means bringing in a fairy by proxy--a mother or a father. Paula took that role on last night.

My wife mentioned that she was my blog fodder.

Here are a couple of pictures from my "Fairy BlogFodder."

Paula's Ankle Screw

Today they took the screw out of Paula's ankle. She developed a little bone spur that was making her very uncomfortable. It was in reaction to that darn screw. The thing is 4 cm long (over 1.5 inches for my American friends.)

The Screw is Metric

Sprint and Insurance

Today I dropped my Treo 650 today at work. The display shattered leaving large grey areas oozing through out the front LCD. It is times like this that I am glad we bought insurance from our phones. We pay $3 per month (although I think it is going to raise up to $4 shortly) and it covers accidental damage to the phone. My Treo 600 died and they upgraded me for free to the 650. Now with a cracked screen, they had it repaired in an hour.

Given that I would have to upgrade to a 700 now and that a 700 runs $300, if I make use of the insurance ONCE in 75 months--or 6.25 years, the insurance has paid for itself. I have used it twice in the last two years.

Paula's Last x-ray

You have new Picture Mail!

Well, Paula went into the ankle doctor today and was told:

1) No more brace!
2) No more appointments!
3) Keep doing physio!
4) The screw can stay in!

So, this is likely the last x-ray from this series. I'm glad that she's healing so well.
